Barthol Chapel is a small rural settlement in the parish of Tarves, situated about 20 miles North West from the city Aberdeen. We are also 10-12 miles from Inverurie and Ellon, 7 miles from Oldmeldrum and approximately 5 miles from the villages of Tarves, Methlick and Fyvie.

Barthol Chapel is the focal point for the surrounding community which includes the hamlets of Tulloford and Earlsford and stretches from the A947 to the B9170. There is an excellent primary school which is also the focal point for social events such as Burns Suppers, Ceilidhs, fundraising events and local shows.

The Church (built in 1875) is well attended with weekly services and now has a Community Café. - Temporarily closed due to COVID-19.

The main industry in the area is agriculture but many people commute to Aberdeen and the surrounding towns such as Inverurie, Ellon and Turriff.

We know this is an anxious time for us all. However, it is also a time when people are rallying round and are seeking to support their neighbours, particularly those who are elderly or more vulnerable.  It seems likely that the current situation will continue for a considerable period of time.

The BCCA and the Church are working together to offer support through this period.

We will be updating information regularly here.

This website provides local, relevant information for people who live in Barthol Chapel and surrounding areas. If there is information you would like to see here in the future, or have information you would like to be posted on the web site, please contact us.

Or subscribe for local news updates.

With all best wishes to our customers and volunteers, in the hope that everyone is staying safe and well. We look forward to meeting again soon.
