Barthol Chapel
News...

Barthol Chapel is a small rural settlement in the parish of Tarves, situated about 20 miles North West from the city Aberdeen. We are also 10-12 miles from Inverurie and Ellon, 7 miles from Oldmeldrum and approximately 5 miles from the villages of Tarves, Methlick and Fyvie.

Barthol Chapel is the focal point for the surrounding community which includes the hamlets of Tulloford and Earlsford and stretches from the A947 to the B9170. There is an excellent primary school which is also the focal point for social events such as Burns Suppers, Ceilidhs, fundraising events and local shows.

The Church (built in 1875) previously well attended, sadly closed for services on 11th June, however this opens up opportunities for its future use. Please refer to our Community Project page for more information.

The church building currently hosts a popular Community Café and occasional craft workshops.

The main industry in the area is agriculture but many people commute to Aberdeen and the surrounding towns such as Inverurie, Ellon and Turriff.

This website provides local, relevant information for people who live in Barthol Chapel and surrounding areas. If there is information you would like to see here in the future, or have information you would like to be posted on the web site, please contact us.
